Differences between the server operating system and Client Operating System

Server Operating System and Client Operating System have different features and they offer different set of privileges to their users. In this Technological era, most of the companies are using Server Operating System and Client Operating System

Server Operating System

A Server Operating System is a type of Operating System that is designed and developed for Server Computer which is a high-end computer with advanced configurations. It is an advanced version of operating system having features and capabilities required within client-server architecture or similar enterprise computing environment. It is also known as Network Operating System (NOS).

Some of the Server Operating Systems are- Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Mac OS X Server.

Client Operating System

A Client Operating System is an operating system that works within computer desktops and various portable devices. This system is different from centralized servers because it only supports s single user. Here, a client machine is a small computer with a basic hardware configuration. It is also known as Desktop Operating System.

Some of the Server Client Operating Systems are- Windows 7, Linux Mint, and Windows 10.

Some of the Server Operating Systems and Client Operating Systems are paid and some of them are open Source. So, user can switch to any of them depending upon his requirements and wishes.
